The Story of InTouch

Over 20 years ago, Katie had the idea and desire to provide the veterinary community with the finest and most custom message on-hold programs available. The firm, known then as On Hold Advertising, was headquartered at her dining room table, and she was at the helm. The clients loved the products. Bill (her husband) was busy running his own firm at that time, but it didn’t take long before he did the unthinkable. He sold his firm and came on board to help grow “On Hold” with a national scope. Married and working together? People said they were crazy! But they loved veterinary medicine and the people they worked with. It just felt good. Soon, meetings moved from their dining room table to their board room.

It was just a matter of time before they started working with national on-hold advertising campaigns for VPI Pet Insurance, Merial, and Pfizer Animal Health. They were later considered as the “vendor of choice” by Novartis Animal Health and are still the only on-hold advertising vendor recommended by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). Thousands of clients and several new products later, they realized that the name just didn’t fit anymore.


New Game, New Name

In 2006, On Hold Advertising underwent a complete brand overhaul and settled into the comfortable space that is now InTouch Practice Communications. Today, surrounded by the most incredible and creative staff, Bill and Katie still own the firm and continue to grow the veterinary community’s finest communication products. In 2010, Bill completed the Veterinary Management Institute (VMI) program at Purdue and continues to enjoy addressing practices by speaking at numerous major veterinary meetings. He has been honored to return to lecture incoming VMI students.

Their eyes continue to be on the quality of their products and on developing solutions for the modern practice. The “flagship” on-hold advertising product has made it very easy to transition into assisting practices with additional ways to communicate with clients.
