"We're proud to create veterinary medicine's most effective marketing products."
- Bill & Katie
Still "InTouch" after all these years!

Humble beginnings
Believe it or not, we weren’t born this way. We began over 25 years ago with Katie’s idea and desire to provide the veterinary community with the finest custom message on-hold programs possible. The company name then was On Hold Advertising and it was headquartered at her dining room table; and she was at the helm. Her clients loved the programs and the company began to grow. In time, Bill, her husband, who had been running his own firm, sold his company and came on board to help grow On Hold with a national scope. Soon, meetings moved from their dining room table to their board room.
It was just a matter of time before we started creating national on-hold advertising campaigns for companies like VPI Pet Insurance, Merial, and Pfizer Animal Health. We were later considered the “vendor of choice” by Novartis Animal Health, and we're also proud to have done the AAHA corporate on-hold program for over 20 years! Thousands of clients and several new products later, we realized that our old name just didn’t fit anymore.
The birth of InTouch
In 2006, On Hold Advertising underwent a complete brand overhaul and became InTouch Practice Communications. Since our beginnings, we’ve grown from a company of one employee and one product to a full-fledged digital marketing powerhouse with a team of creatives spread across several departments. Bill and Katie still own the company, now situated in a 10,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility, and continue to lead our team to develop the very best products in veterinary digital marketing.
1995
First Program Recorded
The dream began with a lot of hope and an expensive microphone.
2002
First Employee
Bill and Katie welcomed their first employee, Tammy, who helped us get organized for success.
2006
Full Company Rebrand
Vets loved our telephone messages on-hold, but they wanted more. Our new InTouch brand better represents our full-service Marketing agency.
2008
Growth During the Recession
When other businesses were slowing down during the recession, we were growing. Vet practices realized they needed to work harder to gain clients because many people put their pets' needs on the back burner in order to keep their families afloat. We were able to keep our prices affordable and offer practices the services they needed to continue to get clients through the door. In 2008, we expanded our office suite and were able to help vets continue their work.
2010
Bill Completed VMI Program at Purdue
Bill completed the Veterinary Management Institute program at Purdue to further his understanding of veterinary medicine and practice management. He has since become an educator in the program and also teaches marketing courses for both the Purdue and Notre Dame MBA programs. Bill enjoys speaking and helping veterinary practices understand the impact digital marketing can play on their bottom line and proudly wears the badge of 170 nights a year in a Marriott.
2012
Exceeded 10 Employees
In 2012, we reached 10 employees, a huge milestone for a company that started with one! We were pleased to continue expanding our office space and our resources to help vets achieve success.
2015
Exceeded 10,000 Projects
2015 was a big year for us – 10,000 projects kind of big. Our small but mighty team had successfully taken on 10,000 projects up to that year, and we were itching for more.
2017
Earned Our Credentials
In 2017, we hit quite the trifecta. We became a Google Partner, earned certification from the Local Search Association, and became a Silver Member of AAHA's Strategic Alliance Program!
2017
Moved to Our New Digs
We were bursting at the seams... so we bought a 10,000-square-foot building and decked it out to meet the specific needs of our digital marketing team. Here, our entire team could collaborate easily in an open space. And we still have room to grow!
2018
Exceeded 30 Employees
By 2018, we had tripled our team from 2012. Our digital marketing team grew exponentially, and we were able to take on new projects with even greater success.
2020
We Won Our First VETTYs
The VETTY Awards® program was established by the North American Veterinary Community (NAVC) in 2017 to recognize stellar veterinary marketing. In 2020, we took the leap and submitted some of our work for judging–and took home several VETTYs.
2021
New Normal
In 2021, InTouch officially shifted from a fully in-office model to a hybrid model, allowing our team the flexibility to work in-office or virtually. This took some adjusting, but we persevered through the challenges and continue to work closely together to do incredible things for our clients.
2024
A Year of Wins
As of February 2024, InTouch has launched 3 new proprietary data tools, exceeded 15 VETTY awards (we’re now at 16 plus a Judge’s Choice), and won Best Inline Exhibit booth at VMX 2024.
