Planning to travel with your pet this summer? Before you leave, make sure your pet doesn’t suffer from motion sickness. We can give you advice to keep your pet from getting sick while you travel. If you’re flying, contact your airline to see what paperwork and certificates you need. Our vets can issue health certificates for national and international travel, just give us plenty of notice before your trip.

Summer is for taking pup-cations! If your pet is tagging along, here are some tips: For pets with motion sickness, we can make recommendations to help them have a more relaxing car ride. If you’re traveling in a truck, remember to keep your pet in the cab with you, instead of the bed of the truck. For more travel tips, let us know when we come back.

Summertime means fun in the sun, but it’s important to make sure your pet is always protected! Don’t leave pets unsupervised when you’re at the beach, lake, or pool. Chlorinated water, algae-contaminated pond water, and lake water can be dangerous to your pet if they drink it. If you take your pet with you on a boat ride, make sure they’re wearing a lifejacket.

A day at the beach with your pet can be immensely enjoyable, but not all our pets know how to swim. We suggest going easy on inexperienced swimmers or those with health problems. If going on a boat, bring along a life preserver that fits your pet. If you’re staying on dry land, bring plenty of water so your pet isn’t tempted to drink water from the ocean, keep them on a leash at all times, and take them home when it gets too hot.
